Sing 2

This is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. The character development, storyline, and details (setting, expressions, etc.) are fantastic. Buster Moon—a koala—is a spunky little fellow. I liked him in the first movie, but his personality was definitely explored more deeply in the sequel. He’s more expressionistic and his and Jimmy Crystal—the wolf’s—interactions are done very well. The humor is refreshing. The animation and graphics are realistic and the characters’ expressions and body language convey their emotions excellently. The ending made the tear up.

The hero/villain dynamic in this movie is one of the best I’ve seen in any movie, game, or book. Jimmy Crystal threatens Buster’s life more than once and Buster grows in his courage when encountering Crystal, though he does show signs of nervousness around him even later in the movie, which is realistic! The messages of finding hope in dark times, not letting negative comments dissuade you from pursuing goals, and reaching for your dreams are prevalent in this movie. Things we need in a society that focuses so much on greed, selfishness, and doesn’t have people’s best interests in mind.

This is an awesome family movie. It is, in turn, hilarious and epic.
